Thanks guys. I enjoy tying with these Fish Skulls more and more.
Blake the belly material is gold mylar tubing covered with a UV resin. There is also two metal beads inside the tubing to help the fly swim belly down and they also act like a sort of build in rattle. :-)
This fly was a bit of an experiment so the colours are a bit wonky. You cant go to far wrong with chartreuse though.
Morne, hoe gaan dit met jou? It looks to have some fish catching potential. When I first saw your pattern with that big old eye I wondered if it was a baby boomslang imitation...
Looks tasty.
ReplyDeleteNice looking fly. I can see the lake that fly is intended for.
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking pattern. Great way to spend some time. I'm sure that fly would work on a lot of different fish. Tight Lines.
ReplyDeletewhat is the gold material on the bottom? very fishy lookin fly
ReplyDeleteI like it...looks like a good imitation for wipers , whites or anything else that munches on baitfish......Jeff
